Elevate last night

Last night we had Elevate which is a C-team of Cornerstone.  Man it was awesome we had about 16 people show up and we had a night of fellowship.  We started off the night with some fellowship and FOOD.  Now that was awesome then I pulled out my guitar and did my own rendition of "Good Riddance" you know it's that song by green day that says " I hope you had the time of you Life"  ooohhhh yeah now you remember.  Anyway then all week long I was in prayer of what God had wanted us to do or talk about and I wasn't getting anything.  Usually when that happens God is either going to give me the message last minute or he has somthing else planned, either way it is always awesome.  So what did God have in store last night......"TABOO"  it was awesome it was the girls vs the guys and when it seemed like the girls were going to win by a land slide the guys came from no where and ended up in a tie.  So then to sudden death and each team picked a rep. and they had two minutes to get as many points as possible well they tied again and so needless to say we did another.  Finally that Girls ended up winning the game which is calling for a rematch at a later date :-)  .     We celebrated birthdays for the month of August which were four people: David, Nini, Aldo and myself.  we had some Cake and Watermelon and to finish up the night we had a prayer followed by Aldo and David going against each other in madden 2008 which was really cool.  All in all we had a really sweet night last night. 

YOUTH WEEK/ HOUSE BEING BROKEN INTO

This past week has been awesome with the exception of my house getting broken into, but it has been awesome.  It all started out with an hour and half of sleep and 4:30 in the morning Monday the 4 of August.  It was awesome we left at about 5:30 and went to Leackey Texas where 35 of our students had a life changing experience.  I was amazed by the reaction of our students during this week many of them stepped up in a huge way.  It seemed like everyone one of our students was showing some sort of leadership whether it was leading a group or getting the ball rolling and  they were Awesome.  I got to grow in knowing these young Men and Women during this week and I am Pumped up to know that God is going to use them in an Amazing way.  Eight students stepped up and declared for the lord that they are commiting themselves to the ministry of God.  They Made this decision on the Eve of 8/8/08  which in Biblical terms the Number 8 was used in the sign of "New Beginnings" God used that in a mighty way in these students and I pray that they keep there commitments and stay the path.  It is said that after Church Camp that students forget what they learned and go back to the way things are and that the world beats down on them like no one's business.  I believe that element student Ministry is going to start its own statistical numbers that defy what the world says about students coming home from Camp.

This past weekend has been a new experience for me and my Family.  My House was Broken into, there were so many mixed emotions right there that Lacie and I did not know what to do.  we felt Violated that someone was in house and going through our things and that someone would steal somthing.  I mean there are no words to describe it, it is a feeling that I pray for no one to go through.  I know that it happens daily and my heart goes out to those people.  Even though some of our stuff was recovered there is still much stuff missing.  It looks like some kids are the ones behind this so I am told.  I pray that they could have gone to Youth week with our church this past week but, that is still a vision of mine that All Youth would be saved and serving  Jesus.  As I Continue the Race that God has given me I know that there will be a lot more trials and tribulations ,BUT I know that God is in Control and that "As for me and my house we will serve the Lord".  I pray that anyone who reads this and has gone through this find comfort knowing that God is in control and that he loves you so much that He gave his only son to die on that cross that we may have everlasting life with our God.

This past week!!!!!

This past week was very Hectic.  It all started on Monday We heard the Hurricane Dolly was going to drop into The Rio Grande Valley for a little visit.  As the storm neared People were out at Wal-mart, Home Depot and HEB just loading provisions for during the storm.  On Tuesday Several cities put out sand so people could sand bag their houses and business'.  I was one of those people that went with Lacie.  We bagged about 10 bags for her work and our house.  There were so many people out there and it got me thinking.  When a Storm  is going to hit the valley people get ready and they are out and making precautions for the storm.  I said man if only we could be like that for Jesus.  We know he is coming yet there are so many people that are just sitting still and not being active with what God as given us to do.  If we were to respond like the people gathering Sand bags then man the world would be a lot better place and the kingdom of Heaven would flood with people.  The Storm hit wednesday and many people were affected by the hurricane.  Still today there are about 20,000 people without electricity.  Man That is not light no way to cook food unless you and a bar b q pit and food spoiling in the refridgerator.   Friday Night  I got a chance to ride along and distribute Food with The American Red Cross.  We went to a Colonia north of Donna and distributed food for about 230 families and that was just in the community.  I was talking with some of the people there and asked them if they had electricity, all of them said that they had no lights and some still had Water in their homes.  There was a pastor that was our contact person and I had asked him to say a public message to the people.  There was a Mic on the Van that he used.  My Spanish is not that great but when needs be God allows me to espeeke  Espanich it was awesome.  He came up to me afterward and said that he had never given a message like that before out in public.  He told me it was his First time and man I pray that, that is not his last.  This past week has just been huge and trying in several aspects.  But!!!! In all different aspects God has shown up huge and has a plan for this future Rio Grande Valley.  I want to challenge you this week as we start and Brand new Week to GET UP OFF YOUR COUCH!!!! and start living an active life for Christ.  Let me ask you a question what Preparations are you taking knowing that Jesus is coming and he is going to ask you ""WHAT DID YOU DO WITH THE LIFE I GAVE YOU""""""""

Awesome Weekend!!!!!

This past weekend was our Bar B-Q plate sale to benefit our Youth to go to camp this year.  MAN!! Did Cornerstone step up and knocked this Bar B-Q Sale out of the Park.  We had a great amount of tickets sold and money is still coming to help out.  This Bar B-Q sale has had a lot of hurdles getting it off the ground, BUT!!! HOW BIG IS OUR GOD!!!!!  God showed up in a huge way that only he can.  We did not have a place in the beginning BAM God provided us with one.  The place was in limbo and we had sent out 800 tickets that had the place printed on them.  God Showed up and put it back on.  I mean God is Awesome.  God Shows up again when we least expect it.  Last Night we had Elevate and we figured out Valley Time is 1 hour.  We were suppose to start at 7 but no one came.  Then 7:30 came around still no one.  I get a phone call two people are coming I said ok awesome..  Then 8:10 comes around and everyone is coming.  We had a great turn out last night.  But yet again when we least expect it, GOD SHOWS UP!!!!  So now tell me what is Impossible when You have God on your Side!!!!!!!!!!!!...........................................................................................................

Trusting God!!!!

Hello everyone out there this is my very first blog in a long time. I have been sitting here thinking about How great our God really is. I mean just when you think that life is getting to tough, God opens up the flood gates of blessing and takes care of his people. Many times I go through this I know God is Big God but there is that little hinder I don't know how things are going to get done But I know it will Because God is on your Side. These Past couple of Weeks my church has been doing a series on One Prayer and this past weekend My Pastor came up and gave a message about his One Prayer for the Church and It was God Make us RISK. Dude that was Awesome. Somthing that lacie and I have been Doing since we have been married and somthing on our hearts here lately has caused us to Risk greatly. When Lacie and I got married we gave our YES to God anything he needed we were there. God has called us to do many things and now he has called us once again to RISK Big for him. Lacie and I are in total faith knowing that God is going to take care of our every need according to his will. I believe this in all that I am and all that I do. I know jesus is king, my savior and I will bring my sword day in and day out to glorify his name and further his kingdom.

I challenge anyone who reads this to step up and RISK for God cause it is in that, that you will see him work in an awesome way
